DESRIST 2016

Welcome to DESRIST 2016

Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technologies (DESRIST) 2016 Conference

Location: St. John’s, NL, Canada
Date: May 24-25, 2016 (Doctoral Consortium and Opening Reception May 23)
Theme: Tackling Society’s Grand Challenges with Design Science

Information systems continue to play increasingly important roles in our lives, in areas as diverse as social media, health care, and embedded technology. At the same time, society faces growing challenges, including demands on health care systems, climate change, and security.

The goal of the design science research paradigm is to extend the boundaries of human and organizational capabilities by designing new and innovative constructs, models, methods, processes, and systems to solve problems. Scholars from different backgrounds – such as information systems, computer science, software engineering, energy informatics and medical informatics – are actively engaged in generating novel solutions to interesting design problems in Information Systems.

With this year’s theme, we hope to focus attention on design science research that important societal problems. In addition to a Best Paper Award, the conference will provide an award to the best paper addressing the conference theme.

We invite the submission of completed research, research-in-progress, panels, prototypes and demos to DESRIST 2016, which will be held May 24-25, 2014 in St. John’s, Canada.

Please use our EasyChair system to submit full research and research-in-progress papers. The deadline for submitting research and research-in-progress papers has been extended. Please see the Important Dates page for conference deadlines.

For instructions on submitting panel proposals, see Panel Proposals.

For instructions on product and prototype submissions, see Products and Prototypes.

For instructions on doctoral consortium submissions, see Doctoral Consortium.
